Wow. I am just really confused at this whole idea. It is pretty sad to me that our country is getting to the level where we restrict the homeless to keep our downtown's beautiful and parks more enjoyable. These laws are just silly. Some ignorant people think it will help curb homelessness. Well sorry but why don't we just put them into jails then. That seems like the line of thinking these lawmakers are coming from.
Instead why don't we take some sort of social responsibility to the disenfranchised and illegitamite(what the world views the homeless as) in society. Of course the better term for them would be the oppressed. Why don't we who have the means to help do it. I am guily too. I guess reading this article is just a wake up call for myself and many others that our society feels no social responsibility to the oppressed.
It is a sad world when the rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer and people just overall stopped caring about humanity.
In conclusion, this reflection is not meant to discount the efforts that are being done worldwide for the poor and oppressed but to reflect that I feel the many people who have the means to help are not. Including myself. Anyway, I guess that this world is just higly disappointing but that one day (thank God) we will have a time where no suffering happens.
